Tropilex hammocks and hanging chairs are woven and finished by hand by traditional weavers in Colombia and India. The quality of the products is double-checked and the factories are regularly visited to monitor production and working conditions.
Wooden hammock stands have their roots in well-managed Scandinavian forests and are produced in a special wood factory in Poland. Tropilex wooden stands are FSC certified.
Metal hammock stands and mounting accessories are made in China. Mainly in two small family businesses with very friendly and positive people.

80% of Tropilex hammocks and hanging chairs are made from yarn that is certified by Oeko-Tex® 100. Oeko-Tex® is one of the world's leading certifications for textile products, the so-called health certificate, because the final product is tested for hazardous substances. The criteria for Oeko-Tex® 100 are stricter than those set by law and relate in particular to the content of chemicals that can cause skin irritation, allergies, cancer, damage to the nervous system and internal organs. The list of chemicals considered is regularly updated and adjusted. Oeko-Tex 100 is a voluntary label controlled by the Oeko-Tex®® association that evaluates and establishes requirements for product certification.
The wood used in the production of hammocks and stands is FSC certified. FSC certification is recognized as the "gold standard" for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally friendly and economically viable.
Sustainable packaging Tropilex strives to use packaging in an environmentally friendly way, using used materials and reusing as much of it as possible. This is not always possible, but all packaging and paper used are FSC-certified or recycled.
